Sheena Harper

SheenaOur Owner and Artistic Director, Sheena grew up in Mashpee and danced at the Cape Cod Conservatory in Falmouth under the direction of Irene Merrill. Ms. Harper is a graduate of the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts. She has also received scholarships for summer programs at Milwaukee Ballet and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Her teachers include Jose Mateo, Virginia Zango, Joan Simone, Katrina Killian, Melissa Hayden, Fanchon Cordell, and Frank Smith.

Sheena has danced professionally with Atlanta Festival Ballet, where she performed soloist roles in Symphony in C, Beauty and the Beast and The Nutcracker. Also with Kentucky Ballet Theater, she performed The Nutcracker, Pas de Quatre, Phantom of the Opera and The Wizard of Oz. And with Spindle City Ballet in Fall River Ma where she performed The Nutcracker and a stepsister in Cinderella. The past three years she was with Pioneer Valley Ballet in Easthampton, Ma where she performed the roles of Beauty in Beauty and the Beast, The Princess in Aladdin, The Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty and The Dew Drop Fairy in The Nutcracker. She recently retired from performing professionally so she could focus on Harper Dance Center and her students.

Sheena has also taught at many different dance schools throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Georgia, Kentucky, and Virginia. Receiving many awards and scholarships at dance competitions throughout the United States, for her performances and choreography. Sheena has spent the last four years as the Director of Dance at the Cape Cod Conservatory in Falmouth. This will be Harper Dance Center's second year and Sheena is overwhelmed with joy that her dream of owning and directing a studio has finally come true!

Bryce Harper

Bryce Harper is a photographer, artist, and teacher. He has photographed events, weddings, and sports professionally for more than ten years. He has taught courses on the university level ranging from introductory photography to studio lighting and web design.  His fine art has shown in solo and group exhibitions at The Tuska Gallery of Contemporary Art, The Barnhart Gallery, Plant Zero, Gallery 5, and The Anderson Gallery, among others. He has explored mediums ranging from hand-made and alternative processes to interactive virtual installations. He received a BFA from the University of Kentucky in Photography and Digital Imaging, and a MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Photography and Filmmaking.  He currently works full time at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and teaches part time at The Art Institute of Boston.


Heather Brown

Heather began her training with Boston Ballet and continued with Ballet Theatre of Boston performing as a member of Youth Works. While attending Beloit College, she was able to continue her study of ballet with Rockford Dance Company of Illinois. It was at Beloit that she began teaching beginner ballet classes to the mostly modern dance population. She has performed a broad range of classical and contemporary works including Nutcracker, Cinderella and Wreath of Memories. She has also choreographed several works for the annual spring fundraiser for Spindle City Ballet.



Cassandra Ferreira

Cassandra began her dance training at Dance Workshop in Ludlow, Ma where she studied ballet, pointe and modern with Maryanne Kodzis (current artistic director of the Pioneer Valley Ballet). She continued her dance training at Keene State College in New Hampshire where she earned a BA in dance & theater, studying a myriad of different courses in modern technique, choreography and dance history and performing in numerous dance productions. Ms. Ferreira has also had the wonderful opportunity to work with Robert Battle, Shawn Currin and Axis Dance Company. Cassie currently teaches and performs at the Pioneer Valley Ballet in Easthampton, Massachusetts.
