Meet our wonderful staff!
Our Owner and Artistic Director, Sheena, grew up in Mashpee and danced at the Cape Cod Conservatory in Falmouth under the direction of Irene Merrill. Ms. Harper is a graduate of the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts. She has also received scholarships for summer programs at Milwaukee Ballet and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Her teachers include Jose Mateo, Virginia Zango, Joan Simone, Katrina Killian, Melissa Hayden, Fanchon Cordell, and Frank Smith.
Bryce Harper is a technology professional, photographer, artist, and teacher. He has photographed events, weddings, and sports professionally for more than ten years. He has taught courses on the university level ranging from introductory photography to studio lighting and web design. His fine art has shown in solo and group exhibitions at The Tuska Gallery of Contemporary Art, The Barnhart Gallery, Plant Zero, Gallery 5, and The Anderson Gallery, among others.
Jenna Antoncecchi grew up in Sandwich and began dancing at age 4 at Sandwich Dance Academy under the direction of Patricia Loring, Kara Vose, Jennifer Walsh, Karen Piette and Janene Chilson. Jenna came to Harper Dance Center in 2013 to perform in "The Nutcracker Twist" and joined the HDC Competition Team. Jenna has been teaching at HDC since 2016. Jenna is also currently a hairstylist in Centerville at Instyle Designs. She loves all aspects of dance and working with children. She is very excited to be teaching and performing at HDC!
Dawn Marie Nee
Dawn Marie Nee began her dance training at the age of 5. She received an Associate Degree in Dance from Dean College in 2012 and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance Education. Dawn was a graduate of the Teacher Training program at Center Stage in 2008 and was Dance Captain of the Senior Company and Outreach Team. She has been awarded top soloist titles in several competitions, performed while at Dean College and was the Captain of the Plymouth South High School Dance Team.
Eliza Davern was a dancer with Sheena Harper for over eleven years. She began dancing through Sheena’s East Falmouth Elementary after-school program, following her to the Cape Cod Conservatory, and eventually Harper Dance Center. Eliza continued to study and teach ballet, lyrical, and hip-hop at HDC all through high school and college. Today Eliza resides in Boston working as a Paralegal and continues to live a very active lifestyle that incorporates her background and passion for dance. Eliza considers Sheena one of her greatest mentors, on and off the stage.
Abbie Dougherty is a Dance and Performance Studies/Educational Studies double major at Roger Williams University and is set to graduate in 2019. While working at RWU she has studied Modern and Contemporary dance, Ballet, and Improvisation. She has worked with various guest artists like, David Parker and Jenny Rocha, as well as performed in many student and faculty choreographed pieces for the Roger Williams University Dance Theatre. She was also a student with Sheena Harper at Cape Cod Conservatory and Harper Dance Center for 7 years studying Ballet, Pointe, and Lyrical/Contemporary dance as well as competing and choreographing. Abbie has assisted Sheena for 5 years as well as returned to teach in the summers.
Harper Dance Center in Mashpee on Cape Cod is looking for a Ballet/Lyrical/Contemporary teacher starting in January 2020. Teacher needed for Tuesday afternoon- evening for Winter-Spring Session. Classes include Ballet and Lyrical/Contemporary with students ranging from 9 years to Adult. Willing to train in my syllabus but must have a strong dance background.
